I n the 20 years I have been with Casa Allegra Community Services, I have experienced many changes. Some changes were more challenging, especially those that had many unknowns. From these changes, I have learned to trust the process, work hard and eventually everything works out the way it should.
Casa Allegra in its 45 years of existence has gone through many transitions. It expanded from serving five children with severe challenges to serving more than fifty adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. One of the most significant changes was the recent stepping down of Chris Bonfiglio as the Executive Director. Chris has been a mentor, an advocate, a supporter and a fearless leader to many people who have had the opportunity to know her. While some may be feeling uncertainty, I want to reassure you that our priorities and Casa Allegra’s mission remain the same.
We have an incredibly committed management team and staff with a strong work ethic and dedication. Casa Allegra will be successful for many years to come with the support from the staff, the management team and the Board of Directors. My goal is to keep Casa Allegra moving in the right direction and to keep our staff motivated and excited about the work that we do.
Our clients will continue to have as many opportunities as possible and have access to things they need and want. It is important to foster the relationships with clients and families we have developed throughout the years and develop new ones.
In a recent letter to the families, I expressed how honored and humbled I feel by the opportunity I have been given to be the new executive director for Casa Allegra. I understand that I have big shoes to fill and this is not going to be easy, but I am ready for the challenge and look forward to working with everyone in this new capacity. Some things might be a little different, but the mission and the vision of Casa Allegra will remain the same for many more years to come.
It is with great appreciation, commitment and much enthusiasm that I see Casa Allegra moving forward. ~ Eny Campos, Executive Director
